                                                               Mary Poppins

The Ty's went on a trip to go see Mary Poppins in the Bord Gáis theatre, on the 16th on December. It was an amazing show and great experience for us all. I really enjoyed it, there were many capturing moments and it was a day to remember.

We set off in the morning on the bus, and when we arrived we went to stroll around and get food that we wanted for the show, as soon as it hit 2:30, we were allowed to go into the theatre to get our seats. We didn't have to wait long at all for the show to begin, so we weren't kept waiting.

My opinion of the show is that I really enjoyed it and I would go see it again, the actors were amazing, the scenery and the singing was spot on. Such talent!

I recommend to all viewers to go see it, I would do it all again.

                                                              !!AMBER DAY!!

On the 4th of December, the tys (us) are having an amber day associated with Amber flag. We have commitees including events, PR, website and art and design for posters etc..

Amber day is all about positivity, so some of us are going around being amber fairies to each class to sprinkle our positivity glitter all around the students of St.Wolstans. We are also going to do amber face paint on the first years and a cut out cardboard stand so the sixth years can take a picture of themselves with a quote saying "Dear first year me, don't be stressed."

We are also going to have a bakesale, which every ty will bake something for it and we will raise the money.

We all have roles so that we are organised and everyone has something to do for amber day because its all about taking part and spreading positivity.

We also made orange bracelets out of wool that we plaited for the ty's so to show positivity.

                                                             Carlingford Trip:))

I brought my suitcases that had clothes that I didn't care about getting dirty, including three pairs of runners, one pair to get dirty, another pair to get wet for water activities and a pair to wear up and home, I  also packed a toothbrush and toothpaste, shower gel, shampoo and conditioner, deodorant, underwear (obviously), a raincoat, pj's and my dressing gown.

Activities included in Carlingford were so fun and enjoyable. We were separated into two groups (A and B) to do the activities. The activities were split up, for us (group B), the first thing we did was land activities which was like a race of different activities to see who could get the most gems. We got split into three groups. It included a lot of co operation but it was easy to communicate with others and was really funny. RoRo was our leader, she was a fab person.

After the activities we walked straight back to the Carlingford activity centre to have lunch. We had chicken goujons and chips and we ate in the food hall. After that we went back to our groups and we were going to do water activities after. We walked to the water activity centre were we brought a change of clothes and runners because it was necessary!! They also have spare shoes there incase you didn't bring a pair, but I'm pretty sure nobody wants to put their feet into someone else's shoes. We all got wetsuits which was the worst putting on because they smelled so bad and they were wet, since the other group did water activities first. The first thing we did was we went peer jumping, two platforms one higher then the other, peer jumping was amazing, such a good experience so don't chicken out or you will regret it. Then we canoed over to the platform in the middle of the bay and we waited till' our turn to go on the water trampoline. Watch out for John, he'll push you off.

We then went back to the activity centre to get dinner, we had stew, vegetarians had a different meal. I don't like stew. So we went to the room which we chose who we wanted to share a room with, the more people you share a room with the better the room is, you'll get your own bathroom and it's bigger. Smaller rooms are fair enough, it was only for one night. Later on we got showers and changed into our pj's and we went to the chinese or other's could go chipper, but I went to the chinese got myself a spicebag and it was so nice but very filling, and you get a coke with it so bring money.

We stayed up and chatted for a while but our bed time was really early because there were younger people there, we went to bed at 11:00 p.m but we could stay up and talk. I fell asleep at 2:00 a.m.

The next day they woke us up at 7:30 a.m with the bears necessity song through the intercom, it was horrible. We got dressed and went to get breakfast and then my group went to do ziplining, which was AMAZING. Don't back out of it, you will regret it so much. It's an incredible experience.

After all the fun and games, it was time to pack and go home.

I recommend Carlingford, it's an amazing trip and you  will not regret it.

TY RETREAT

                                                                 Retreat

We arrived at Celbridge Manor at 9:05 a.m.We waited in the Garden room until our retreat speakers arrived. At the start one of the speakers tricked us all into thinking that we couldn't eat all day and that we had to pray, followed by a funny voice. I was in tears.

After all the joking he finally admitted to telling us that he was just kidding. The first exercise we did was played a couple of games just to warm up and all that stuff.

After little lunch we went back in and we went to now concentrate more on how we were feeling and to reflect on ourselves. First we got into groups and we got handed a piece of paper with writing on it. It had questions that asked us topical subjects, our one was "If you got hit by a car, what would you regret not saying."

After that we got back into a big circle and they laid out other colorful cards that had words on the other side, but were faced downwards so we couldn't see what they said. The word I got was 'understanding', which I was happy enough with, a lot of the girls got a word that described them very clearly.

After that we got big lunch, and we could get chips from the restaurant. After lunch we went back in and we were now going to meditate lying down to close our eyes and to think about life. It was very relaxing and opened our minds.

If I could I would go back to this retreat as it was one of the best retreats I have been to. I would recommend it.
